Job Title: Janitorial Associate

Job Summary:

 

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Janitorial Associate to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout our grocery store. This role supports daily store operations by ensuring all areas—sales floor, restrooms, backrooms, and common spaces—are kept sanitary, organized, and hazard-free.

Key Responsibilities:

​

• Maintain cleanliness of the entire store, including floors, restrooms, break rooms, offices, and entryways

• Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum, and polish floors as needed

• Empty trash and recycling bins throughout the store and replace liners

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, fixtures, mirrors, and restock supplies

• Wipe down glass, doors, windows, and high-touch surfaces

• Respond promptly to spills, messes, and safety hazards to prevent accidents

• Clean and organize the backroom, stock areas, and employee common spaces

• Follow all safety, sanitation, and chemical-handling procedures

• Set up or clean up after special store events or deliveries

• Assist with light maintenance tasks (changing bulbs, minor repairs and etc) if needed

• Complete daily cleaning checklists and report any issues to management

Qualifications:

​

• Prior janitorial, custodial, or cleaning experience preferred but not required

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

• Comfortable working around cleaning chemicals and equipment

• Able to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 30–50 lbs, and perform physical tasks

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced retail environment

• Good communication skills and a strong sense of responsibility
